HELP! Easy 10 points! I only need a closing sentence!?

Question by Kasey: HELP! Easy 10 points! I only need a closing sentence!?
This is my essay for a volcational school, I just need a closing sentence! All tips are welcome :)

“Education is our greatest opportunity to give an irrevocable gift to the next generation.”- Ernie Fletcher

In many countries, people must pay for an education. It is obscure how many people in the United States of America take their education for granted. To be honored with the opportunity to learn for free, all should be exalting, for they are extremely lucky.
To be admitted into the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science is an opportunity of a life time. I am a great candidate to be admitted, for my grades are above average, and all together I am a well rounded student. The amount of community service I have done and will do in the future is an extensive amount. I have experienced feeding the homeless, giving gifts with Angel Tree to children with parents in prison, helping out a woman with Multiple Sclerosis, cleaning up garbage in my local area, and much more. Doing community service is a pleasure to me.
Many people in this great nation are not honored to be able to say that they absolutely love doing math, as I do so. To me, math comes naturally, and I do truly enjoy participating in math class. Going to M.A.T.E.S would be so great for me, since the main focus here is math and science. Along with math, I also love science. In science, I do my best during hands on experiments, so the hands on experiences in M.A.T.E.S would be very beneficial to me.
There is one main reason I want to go to M.A.T.E.S. This reason is I want the best education I can possibly have. Even though schooling usually comes easily and naturally to me, it requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance to succeed. I have not decided what I want as a career when I grow up yet, but I know I do want it to be involving math, and going to M.A.T.E.S is the best opportunity for me to follow my dreams and true passion.
The focus on community service that M.A.T.E.S students have fully described something I am looking for in a high school. I am a proud member of the National Junior Honor Society, a girl scout and a very good athlete; I know how to handle hard work and other activities.
As a studious person, I always want to challenge myself. For fun, and when in boredom, I do mathematics. In M.A.T.E.S pupils are pushed to succeed, to go above and beyond expectations, which is exactly what I want to do.

Ok, there is this high school M.A.T.E.S. This is my essay to get in. I REALLLLLY want to get in, its supposed to be pretty short, ( fit on half a page, im putting it in tiny faunt). I need a closing sentence! any ideas? Oh yeah, also edit anything if u want! THANKYOU!

and btw, God Bless <3

Can Sun Rays Help You Avoid MS?

Posted by Comments (0)

Article by Karina Eileraas

Over the last few years we have all been inundated with messages about how exactly essential it is to keep out of the sun. We understand exactly how real skin cancer is and the risks associated with it so we do everything we can think to do to keep it from happening to us. We wear countless layers of the largest SPF sunscreens that we can buy. We fit large old floppy hats on our heads. We put on long pants and sleeves even through the hottest months of the year. We tend to stick to the shade–some individuals may also carry parasols and umbrellas just to make sure they have exactly no contact with the sun. Now we are beginning to realize that sunlight can really help us. Can you truly be helped by the sun’s rays?

A new study has shown that folks who allow themselves some sun exposure are less likely to develop MS than those who try to minimize their sun exposure. At the starting point, the study was much more about Vitamin D and it’s effects on Multiple Sclerosis. Eventually it became apparent, however, that it was the Vitamin D our bodies produce as a response to exposure to the sun

Well, I get that you like math! Just kidding. Your first couple of sentences have the wrong word usage. I re-wrote them:

“In many countries, people must pay for an education. It is surprising how many people in the United States of America take their education for granted. The honor of a free education should be appreciated, for those who receive it are extremely lucky.”

End with:
“I appreciate this opportunity and look forward to the possibility of participating in this program.”

Help with a silent auction please!!!?

Posted by Comments (2)

Question by kathryn.durkin: Help with a silent auction please!!!?
I am a 21 yr old whose mother has Multiple Sclerosis and is bedridden due to the disease. I decided to host a silent auction benefiting the National MS Society. I am planning the event on my own and all extra costs are coming out of my personal pockets…… Any suggestions for baskets.?? Also, suggestions for how to get more donations. I have done well thus far but big companies (Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc… give me the run around because they donate to “select organizations that are pre-determined”.? Any ideas would be great!!! Thanks!!

I am also having trouble getting gift cert for like spa places and nail places. I don’t want to sound ignorant but most are owned and run by asian influenced people (not sure if Vietnamese, Chinese, etc…) and they either don’t understand me, or pretend they don’t cause they don’t want to donate…. I know they are good auction items but I also cant afford to spend more $ $ buying things to make money for a charity..

People can keep an eye on their bids.& rebid. This way there`s less work for you. …..About donations ,I live in a small village, were we know each other. We target local stores.
Print up nice posters, about the Auction (where,When,Why)
Get help it`s easier for you. Dress nice & take the posters with you. I`ve never had any probs. Getting donations.

The Benefit Of Sunshine To Help You Stop Ms

Posted by Comments (0)

Article by Claudia Jordan

We’ve spent the past few decades talking about how important it is to stay out of the sun. We’ve recognized just how real a risk skin cancer can be and are doing almost everything we can think of to prevent it from happening. We buy the highest SPF sunscreens we can get and then slather on layers and layers of it. We fit huge old floppy hats on our heads. We use long sleeves and pant legs even in the warmest of temperatures. We do our best to keep only in the shady areas–some have even started carrying parasols and umbrellas around so that their skin never comes into contact with direct sunlight. Now we’re starting to discover that sunlight can sometimes be pretty helpful. Can sunshine genuinely help you?

There is a fresh study that indicates people who let themselves get some exposure to direct natural light aren’t as prone to come down with MS as people who take steps to minimize sunlight contact on skin. Originally the research was to see how Vitamin D affected the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis. It soon became apparent, though, that the Vitamin D generated in our bodies as a reaction to sunshine is what is really at the root of things.

It’s been recognized for a very long time that Vitamin D and sunshine can impact the way the immune system works and how it can contribute to Multiple Sclerosis. This study, on the other hand, deals chiefly with the effects of sunshine on the people who are just starting to experience the very earliest symptoms of the disease. The real purpose is to discover how sunlight and Vitamin D may affect the symptoms that are now known as “precursors” to the actual disease symptoms.

Sadly, at this time there aren’t actually very many ways that really prove whether or not the hypothesis of this study are true. The study would like to demonstrate whether or not exposure to the sun can actually prevent MS. Unfortunately, the researchers discovered, the only way to that is to monitor people over the course of their lives. This is just about the only method to really measure the levels of Vitamin D that are already present in a person’s blood before the precursors to MS start to become apparent. The way it is now, individuals who get normal exposure to the sun appear to experience fewer symptoms of MS than those who live in colder or darker climates–which isn’t new news.

There is also the very critical problem that spending a lot of time in the sunshine greatly increases a person’s chances of developing skin cancer. So, in an attempt to push away one condition, you could be causing yourself to produce a different one. Of course, if you ever get skin cancer early on enough you are far more likely to cure it. MS continue to has no cure.

So what should you do: risk skin cancer or risk MS? Your doctor can help you figure out whether or not this is an option for you. Your physician will find out if you are in danger for the disease (and how much) by checking out your genetics, medical history and current health. From here a family doctor should be able to make it easier to determine the best course of action.

Question by Wendy H: Will Spingolin, bovine oral mylein, help to get rid of the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis?
Will Spingoling (bovine oral mylein) help to get rid of my tingling and numbess from multiple sclerosis? How much is safe to take and how long will it take to work.

Regards
Wendy

Best answer:

Answer by Rainbow
My husband has MS and he gets acupuncture to help relieve his symptoms. Never heard of Spingoling and neither has he. What he sometimes takes is Baclofen and that helps relieve his pins and needles and relax his muscles.
Good Luck with your health.
My husband also benefits from the acupuncture as it gives his energy levels a boost.
